250 ml Guinness piva
250 g maslaca
75 g kakaa
400 g šećera
2 jaja
½ čajne žlice ekstrakta vanilije
2 ½ čajne žlice sode bikarbone
"Pjena":
300 g Philadelphia kremastog sira
150 g šećera u prahu
125 ml (½ šalice) slatkog vrhnja
PRIPREMA:
1. Guinness pivo uliti u veću posudu za kuhanje, postepeno dodati maslac i zagrijavati dok se maslac ne otopi. Kako i šećer umiješati.
2. Kiselo vrhnje tuči s jajima i ekstraktom vanilije, uliti u smjesu maslaca i pive.
3. Brašno i sodu bikarbonu postepeno umiješati.
4. Biskvitnu smjesu uliti u maslacem namazan i papirom za pečenje obložen oblik za torte promjera 23 cm. Peći u pećnici na 180°C oko 45 – 60 minuta. Nakon pečenja kolač ostaviti u obliku za torte, u ugašenoj pećnici, da se potpuno ohladi. Kolač je prilično vlažan. Ohlađeni kolač izvaditi iz oblika za pečenje na ravni poslužavnik ili tanjur.
5. U međuvremenu pripremiti „pjenu“: krem sir lagano tuči dok ne postane gladak i ujednačen, prosijati šećer u prahu i dodati siru, dobro promiješati. Ako se krema priprema u mikseru, najprije staviti šećer i kratko ga miješati kako bi nestale sve grudice, zatim dodati sir.
6. Slatko vrhnje dodati, sve zajedno tuči dok krema ne postane mazive konzistencije. Kremom namazati samo vrh kolača kako bi podsjećao na pjenu poznatog piva.
Laka preporuka: kolač možete napraviti nekoliko dana ranije (završno s korakom 4), a nekoliko sati prije posluživanja napraviti kremu. Kolač je najbolji ako odstoji barem 24 h.

400 g caster sugar
142 ml (½ cup & 2 tbs) sour cream
2 eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract
275 g plain flour
2 ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
For the topping
300 g Philadelphia cream cheese
150 g icing sugar
125 ml (½ cup) whipping cream
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, and butter and line a 23 cm spring form tin.
2. Pour the Guinness into a large wide saucepan, add the butter – in spoons or slices – and heat until the butter’s melted, at which time you should whisk in the cocoa and sugar. Beat the sour cream with the eggs and vanilla and then pour into the brown, buttery, beery pan and finally whisk in the flour and bicarbonate of soda.
3. Pour the cake batter into the greased and lined tin and bake for 45 minutes to an hour. Leave to cool completely in the tin on a cooling rack.
4. When the cake’s cold, sit it on a flat platter or cake stand and start the icing. Lightly whip the cream cheese until smooth, sieve over the icing sugar and then beat them both together.
5. Add the cream and beat again until it makes a spreadable consistency. Ice the top of the black cake so that it resembles the frothy top of the famous pint.
